As the centre is now closed, we are developing an online alternative to allow you to keep on top of your practice and would like to invite you to join us in our ‘Virtual Studio’.
All our teachers at the MYC are working hard to compile daily videos for current students and for those who have not been able to reach us for a while.
We are all aware of the emotional and financial affect the current situation is having on many of us, so we are hoping to support our community by offering classes which will keep a balance; encourage good movement and breathing as well as easing some anxieties.
We are also offering a 25% discount on all virtual classes until the end of April. Just quote the discount code: “May-online” when booking.
For any students in financial difficulty please do contact us to find out more about our scholarship scheme, where we have allocated a number places for free access to the site.
As many of you know, we are not as good with social media as we are at yoga, and developing the “Virtual Studio” is certainly testing our skills! But those of you who are active with these platforms, please do share our new concept with your friends and colleagues don’t forget we offer a free video class to all new registrations.
We are looking forward to seeing you all on the mat. We aim to produce 19 weekly classes with a 7-day expiry, accessible for you and family members.
The classes will be accessed via our website in the same way you would book your regular classes. As the classes run without any breaks (for collecting equipment or adjustments) we have kept them to approximately one hour long.
We aim to keep in touch with our community, via live weekly podcasts, which will allow us to answer any yoga queries regarding accessing the classes, postures and any other related yoga topics from early April.
We will be running the podcast on an application called “Zoom” (https://zoom.us) which you will need to download. It is easy to use.
It’s that simple, see you on the mat on Wednesday 😊
Lin and the team
Meanwhile we will be busy producing wonderful videos for you all to enjoy from Wednesday 25th March. If students have pre-booked classes, please un-enrol until then. We look forward to joining you on the mat soon.
From 25th March, classes will be taught via video link and the centre will be temporarily closed for students. We will be posting videos to students who enrol onto classes from the website in the usual way.
Everyone on the class register will be able to see the link in the booking area to enable them to access a “virtual class” with their chosen teacher; there will be an expiry date on the video. Students can then follow the class and continue their practice from home (or office etc).
For those who wish to borrow equipment to use at home, the centre will loan out the equipment here. Please contact us ASAP to arrange to collect equipment on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th of March. For those who wish to buy equipment, please send us a list of what you need, and we will organise this. The sooner you send us this list the better as we will need time to order it in.
I have practised Hatha yoga on and off for about 12 years (more off than on normally!) and have attended about 6 different classes in various places with but have never enjoyed the yoga as much as i am now. I feel very at ease in the class. Lin creates a lovely atmosphere where no-one feels inhibited (in previous classes i have felt pressure to get it right by very serious and somewhat overbearing teachers!). Lin explains things very well and the demonstrations really help to see exactly what i should be doing.
