I just wanted to say thank you for the introduction to Iyengar yoga. I’ve only had 5 classes but right from the first lesson I have felt the benefit and my whole body feels looser and less tense than it did before I started. As for the reduction in knee pain, well – that was an unexpected bonus. Obviously the arthritis is not going to go away, but yoga is helping me cope with it. I do struggle with some of the poses, but you always adapt them so I can have a go and I never feel silly or a failure, for which I’m grateful. For the first time in ages I feel like I have found a form of exercise I can stick with, with the added bonus that I feel good about myself too.
Today I was told by my GP that I no longer need medication for high blood pressure. It’s taken a while and needed some tinkering with my diet to get over the line but I attribute this mainly to the teaching at Maidstone Yoga Centre.

After several lessons with Senior Iyengar Teacher Lin, I feel my own understanding of yoga has improved greatly.
Her depth of yoga knowledge and ability to pass it on is very impressive.

Since starting yoga at the Maidstone Yoga Centre it has made a vast improvement to my scoliosis. It has been through practising various yoga poses which has given strength and opening to my upper back and in main improved my overall posture in general.
The tutors at the centre are friendly and knowledgable giving clear instruction of each pose and ensuring that they are accessible to all. Both Lin and Leo are fantastic at explaining and making adjustments that have furthered my understanding and development week on week.With a emphasis on good posture and alignment this is something that I have found beneficial both on a off the mat.
I would like to thank both Lin and Leo for their wonderful teaching, guidance and the noticeable change to my upper back since attending classes.
I absolutely love this yoga. It is hard work and some poses are challenging but extremely rewarding and by the end of the sessions I feel light and flexible and calm. It's very addictive and I find myself using the principles throughout my day. It has made me very conscious of my posture, especially at work where it is crucial I sit properly to prevent neck pain.
